Mohammed's Journey
Mo’s journey is one of courage, independence, and passion. Originally from Egypt,
Mohamed moved to the United States in 1968, where he began his American career as a
chemist in New Jersey. But the corporate culture of the chemical industry — both in
Egypt and America — never quite felt like home. Craving independence and a life driven
by something he truly loved, Mohamed opened his first antique store on the Upper West
Side of Manhattan in 1983. A decade later, in 1993, he brought his expertise and charm
to the Village of Nyack, opening Antique Masters at 1 South Broadway — a shop that
would become a cornerstone of the community for over 30 years.
Today, Mohamed is
one of the few remaining antique dealers in a village that was once flooded with antique
shops, a testament to his enduring passion and the loyalty of the community he has
served for decades.
Behind every great man is an equally remarkable woman, and Mohamed’s story would
not be complete without honoring his beloved wife Terry, who stood by his side and
helped build his antique business from the very beginning. Her contribution to the
legacy that is now Michelle & Mo is immeasurable. Still going strong together, Mohamed
and Terry are a testament to love, resilience, and a life beautifully lived — an inspiration
to everyone around them.

Michelle and Mo
Michelle & Rob’s journey is one of love, loyalty, and the courage to begin again.
Their story with Mo begins with Rob, Michelle’s husband and Mo’s longtime friend of 29
years, who first met Mohamed during his years as the UPS driver for South Nyack.
When Michelle’s mom Rachel fell ill in 2025, the family made a big, bold decision — sell
two houses, move in together, and start a brand new chapter. Rachel, a lifelong collector
of art deco, retro, vintage pieces and antiques, brought with her a treasure trove of
beautiful collectibles that quickly filled their new shared home to the brim. It was Rachel
who first ignited Michelle’s love of eclectic, one-of-a-kind pieces — and passed down a
contemporary sensibility that celebrates mixing styles, eras, and aesthetics in ways that
feel fresh, vibrant, and wholly unique.
Rob turned to Mo for help, and Mohamed — being the generous soul that he is —
stepped in to help the family sell their pieces. Then came an unexpected twist. In
December 2025, at 84 years young, Mohamed found himself at a crossroads between
retirement and his undeniable love for the trade, when he learned that the building that
had housed Antique Masters for decades was set for renovation. Michelle and Rob had
another idea — why not continue the legacy together?
And just like that, Michelle & Mo Antique Boutique was born, finding a wonderful new
home at 15 North Broadway, Nyack, NY — a fresh space to carry on a storied tradition.
